Individual Therapy

Individual therapy looks a lot like a conversation with a good friend.  But the gift is that it's a one-way friendship where it's all about you!  You get to talk about whatever you want and need to say.  I get to listen carefully, reflect what I hear to make sure you feel understood, affirm and encourage your strengths, and ask questions to clarify or help you think more deeply about your concerns.  Therapy is different from a conversation with a good friend because I have some emotional distance from your life, which enables me to listen with an outside point of view.

While life presents challenges, I believe that people are fundamentally strong and resilient. With the help of a trusted guide who listens and supports them, I believe the therapy process can help people develop their strengths and resiliency.

Drawing from principles of Solutions-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior (DBT) theories, I approach each client with warmth, concern, curiosity, and encouragement. I focus on building authentic connections and feel privileged to be a part of each person's journey.

Please contact me to discuss whether we might be a good fit to work together.
